Mr K brought his PowerMac G4 400Mhz tower into us. He’d been receiving “Scratch Disk Full” for a ahile while working off of Creative Suite on this Macintosh.
He’d tried upgrading the Ram memory in his PowerMac to alleviate the memory issues, and after installing the new memory, the Mac would turn on but wouldn’t boot up.
We began by explaining Scratch Disk errors, which are generally indicating Hard Disk Memory problems instead of Ram problems. To solve that problem, we’re installing a 160gb Seagate hard drive with a five year warranty, that’s protection on that drive till 2014!
Regarding the Mac not booting up, here at AuburnCom workshop, we switched the Ram, Video Card, HArd drive, Power Supply, and finally Logic Board in order to find the problem. Once we identified the problem, we replaced the Logic Board, Booted up the machine, verified the repair and Mr K was able to come over to our workshop, at 660 Alabama, and pick up his Mac.
Success!
