How much would it cost to reformat my 1st generation iMac desktop (the one with the dome on the bottom) and change from 256 to 512? It’s operating very slow now.

    Hi,

I live in SF. I have a white macbook. It does not boot up. It shows a folder icon when trying to boot up. I took it out and put it in an external drive container box and plug it back in via usb pressing the option key and it does boot up and I can see all my files. I backed it up. This tells me the drive is probably fine? So could it be the connectors? If yes how much would you charge to fix or replace?
